Vélez Sarsfield for the first time. He died in 1969<br />

holding his office which he occupied for more<br />

than 30 years. He was the symbol of the fighting<br />

and honest leader, who devoted his life to the<br />

club, mortgaged his own possessions to stop the<br />

club’s being auctioned in 1941 and made it<br />

possible for it to reach the greatness it has at<br />

present. May 14 (date of his passing away) was<br />
