remained essentially constant. At 600ºC, the soil became nonp<strong>la</strong>stic.<br />

In terms of expandability, heating reduced this property half the value at<br />

500ºC and 80% at 750ºC. These results indicate that heating changes an<br />

expansive c<strong>la</strong>y into an essentially nonexpansive material.<br />
