ÉVÉNEMENTS
« L’après-midi » présente le travail de quatre artistes, Julien Dubuisson, Ibai
Hernandorena, Lidwine Prolonge et Jean-Charles de Quillacq. Qu’est-ce qui les
rapproche ?
Rien ! Et étrangement, ce quatuor « fonctionne ». Tous les quatre ont été sélectionnés
comme résidents à la Villa Arson dans le cadre d’un programme de 3 e cycle, «
5/7 Pratique / Production / Exposition »..
N’entretiennent-ils pas tous un rapport particulier à l’Histoire ?
Effectivement, chacun d’eux s’intéresse à l’Histoire, avec des dimensions
différentes. Pour Lidwine, c’est la science-fiction, pour Ibai, l’histoire de
l’architecture et de l’urbanisme. Julien a, pour sa part, travaillé pendant
plus d’un an sur une pièce imbriquant plusieurs œuvres emblématiques,
parce que l’Histoire dans son cas est littérale. Jean-Charles l’aborde d’un
point de vue généalogique, à partir de sa propre famille.
La Villa Arson est-elle une pépinière de talents, un révélateur ?
De là sortent régulièrement des artistes présents sur la scène artistique.
Alors, oui, c’est une école exceptionnelle, située dans un cadre
exceptionnel.

« L’après-midi » introduces
the work of 4 artists,
Julien Dubuisson, Ibai
Hernandorena, Lidwine
Prolonge and Jean-Charles
de Quillacq. What do
they have in common?
Nothing! And
strangely, this quartet
is “working”. All four of them have
been selected as residents of the Villa
Arson, as part of a graduate program
called “5/7 Practice / Creation /
Exhibition”.
Don’t they all share a particular
relation with history?
Indeed they do, each of them has a
particular interest in history, with
different perspectives. For Lidwine,

it is about science fiction, Ibai is
more concerned about the history of
architecture and town planning. As
for Julien, he has worked for over a
year on a piece that includes several
emblematic works because he looks
at the literal meaning of history.
Jean-Charles goes about it from a
genealogical angle, starting with his
own family.
Is the Villa Arson a pool of
upcoming talents? Highlighting
new talents?
Artists who are active on the artistic
stage frequently come out of the
Villa Arson. Yes, it is an exceptional
school, located in an exceptional
environment.
