LES RÉGATES ROYALES -
TROPHÉE PANERAI
rassemblent, du 20 au 27
septembre, les plus célèbres
yachts du XIX e siècle et les
coursiers les plus renommés du
siècle dernier. Si la première
édition des Régates Royales
eut lieu en 1929, le dernier
rendez-vous du Trophée
Panerai (championnat du
monde du yachting classique)
n'existe, lui, que depuis 10 ans.
Traditionnellement, les régates
prennent pour cadre, durant
cinq jours, les eaux proches
des îles de Lérins et voient
s'affronter des bateaux répartis
en sept catégories.

de la Plaisance, from 20 to 27
September, THE RÉGATES
ROYALES – TROPHÉE
PANERAI will bring together
the most famous 19 th -century
yachts and hard-core racers of
the last hundred years. Though
the first Régates Royales event
was held in 1929, the Trophée
Panerai (classic yachting world
championship) has only been
around for a decade. Races
traditionally take place over
five days in the waters near the
Lérins Islands, pitting vessels
in contests across seven
categories. An exquisite
competition, where elegance
remains the standard, year after
year.

[Thoughts on our time], is the
theme of the conferences
organized by the city of
Menton, from 17 to 24
October. This year, the
conferences/debates (open to
all) will go into the following
topics in depth: “Rencontres
sur les origines” [Meeting our
roots], “Quelle philosophie
pour notre temps?” [Which
philosophy can be applied to
our time?], “La cite des
homes” [The City of Men]
and “Science et conscience”
[Science and awareness].
Some prestigious speakers
will participate in the event:
Axel Kahn, Franz-Olivier
Giesbert, Dalil Boubakeur.
