The <strong>2011</strong>-<strong>2012</strong> season was a tremendous success as hundreds<br />
of Nunavik kids participated in the program, either at the local<br />
level, in the Select program, or in one of the regional tournaments.<br />
It was important to develop a very good on-ice hockey<br />
program adapted to the entire region. This has brought great<br />
dividends as the players’ skills and the hockey knowledge keep<br />
improving year after year. We are now seeing all Nunavik Select<br />
teams performing really good during all tournaments down<br />
south, and even dominating at times.<br />
Some students were more successful, while others experienced<br />
greater difficulty in school. Some of these young people<br />
follow the Individualized Path of Learning program and others<br />
are considered “dropouts” by their school. It is very important to<br />
understand that these young “dropouts” can also participate in the<br />
Nunavik Youth Hockey Development Program, under the supervision<br />
of staff, if they make a commitment to be actively involved<br />
in the life of their community and to make efforts towards their<br />
personal development. Contrary to the belief of some people,<br />
the program does not exclude young people at risk.<br />

de camps de sélection ou de<br />
tournois régionaux.<br />
Nous avons développé un<br />
très bon programme de hockey<br />
adapté à toute la région.<br />
Les résultats obtenus sont<br />
fantastiques, car les joueurs<br />
continuent de parfaire leurs<br />
connaissances et de s’améliorer<br />
année après année. Les<br />
équipes Select du Nunavik<br />
offrent de bonnes performances<br />
dans tous les tournois<br />
auxquels elles participent, et<br />
parviennent même à être parmi les meilleures.<br />

développement personnel.<br />
Certains élèves ont de bons résultats scolaires, alors que<br />
d’autres éprouvent plus de difficultés en classe. Certains suivent<br />
un cheminement particulier de formation et d’autres ont<br />
abandonné l’école. Il est important de souligner que les élèves<br />
