NOTE.—This species was distributed by Harvey in his Friendly Islands exsiccatae (1857) under the name Neomeris nitida, without a description. Munier-Chalmas (1877:816) established the genus Bometella on the basis of Neomeris nitida, but without publishing the binomial B. nitida. Sonder appears to be the first author to use that binomial, although he accredited it to Munier-Chalmas.
