NOTE.—This species was distributed by Harvey in his
Friendly Islands exsiccatae (1857) under the name Neomeris
nitida, without a description. Munier-Chalmas (1877:816)
established the genus Bometella on the basis of Neomeris
nitida, but without publishing the binomial B. nitida. Sonder
appears to be the first author to use that binomial, although
he accredited it to Munier-Chalmas. Because Neomeris nitida
remained a nomen nudum, Harvey's name does not appear
in the authorship.
by I.R. Price, 27 January 1982.
*Chlorocladus philippinensis Gilbert
PHILIPPINE DISTRIBUTION.—CATANDUANES. SIQUIJOR.
NOTE.—Gilbert was unable to confirm Taylor's record
of Chlorocladus australasicus because he could not locate the
cited specimen. Probably only one species of Chlorocladus is
represented in the Philippines, but whether it is distinct
from Sonder s species remains to be investigated (see Price,
1981:175).
