The reason for adopting Hincksia for <strong>the</strong> genus currently<br />

known as Giffordia is given in <strong>the</strong> appended Nomenclatural<br />

NOTE.—This species was assigned to Feldmannia by<br />

Pham-Hoang Ho (1969:298). As noted by Womersley and<br />

Bailey (1970:288), however, it does not have <strong>the</strong> long<br />

unbranched filaments with basal meristems that are characteristic<br />

<strong>of</strong> that genus. It seems best placed in Hincksia.<br />
