NOTE.—Drouet (1968:213), on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> original<br />
description, assigned this species to Oscillatoria erythraea<br />
(Ehrenberg) Drouet. Although <strong>the</strong> latter species (better<br />
known as Trichodesmium erythraeum Ehrenberg) is generally<br />
planktonic, Agor (I.e.) reported his material as being epiphytic<br />
on brown algae.<br />
