carpogonial branch in that species, which was said to be
borne on a special short filament rather than directly on an
ordinary vegetative filament. Abbott (1984), pointing out
the inconstancy of this character, returned the species to
Liagora. Liagora cheyneana is included as a synonym on the
authority of Howe (1920:554).
