NOTE.—The nomenclature of this species is discussed by
Silva (1980:124). Chondria uvaria C. Agardh (1822a:347),
the intended basionym of Chrysymenia uvaria, is a superfluous
name for Fucus botryoides and hence not priorable.
Chrysymenia uvaria J. Agardh, while treated as a nomen
novum in accordance with Article 72, Note 1, of the ICBN,
is equally superfluous.
