Det er først her vi kommer forbi primitivist/modernist-<br />

debatten, og paradoksalt nok ender vi opp der vi startet<br />

med de tidlige primitivistene: Rodbertus og Büchers interesse<br />

for husholdningen. Vi har imidlertid gått en lang<br />

vei for å komme dit og vi har ikke kommet tilbake til start.<br />

Det er viktig å understreke at vi er blitt klokere og bærer<br />

med oss viktige lærdommer og at teorimangfoldet er blitt<br />

større fra 1900-tallets diskusjon om byene og den romerske<br />

økonomien. ■<br />
