Funding PartnersReestruturação Familiar by the Associação Saúde Criança Renascer (Rio de Janeiro/RJ)At the Lagoa Hospital, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), this initiative offers support to the families ofhospitalized children, so that they can overcome the constant returns to hospital caused bytheir situation of poverty.Numbers for the Prêmio Criança <strong>2006</strong>333 initiatives enrolled from the 5 regions of Brazil17 initiatives received technical visits9 initiatives selected as finalists4 initiatives received awards18 volunteer specialists mobilized6 volunteer counselors mobilized650 people took part in the awards ceremonyFruits of the experience of the Referral Center for the Victims of Domestic Violence – CNRVVof the Sedes Sapientiae Institute, a winning initiative at the Prêmio Criança 2002 awards,in the Domestic Violence category – the Centers for the Prevention of Domestic Violencehave been broadening their focus to include the subject of Sexual Violence.During <strong>2006</strong>, the <strong>Abrinq</strong> Foundation carried out 11 monthly supervisions with the 19social organizations and around 23 technicians from the departments of education, health,welfare and Tutelary Counsels.To strengthen the implantation of the prevention centers, 11 forums on the prevention ofsexual violence were held in partnership with the CNRVV and the WCF-Brasil working withsubjects such as: sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents, pedophilia onthe internet, legal definitions of sexual crimes, systems for the notification and detection ofviolence against children and adolescents in public schools and the development of sexualityin children. 655 people participated in these forums during the year.Numbers for the Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention Centers19 organizations trained on the subject of sexual violence, 18 of these being from theNossas Crianças Network and one from Araçoiaba da Serra (SP), winner of the 2004Prêmio Criança award11 participating municipalities17 centers opened in the Greater Metropolitan Region of São Paulo1 center opened in Jarinu, in partnership with Municipal Health Department771 cases of violence identified313 cases of violence notified, among these, 287 cases monitoredThe <strong>Abrinq</strong> Foundation understands that, besides identifying and disseminating theinnovative initiatives of civilian social organizations, it must provide incentive for theirarticulation with the broadest possible range of publics. To this end, one of the successfulexperiments is that of mobilizing volunteer professionals to provide services for the childrenand adolescents attended by organizations throughout the country, carried out by thePrograma Adotei um Sorriso (Adopt a Smile Program).The program is present in 23 Brazilian states and has 4,234 volunteer professionals(dentists, lawyers, architects, nurses, pediatricians, speech therapists, nutritionists andpsychologists) who work in conjunction with 221 social organizations and benefited 5,374children and adolescents with individual clinical consultations and 181,312 children andadolescents via institutional actions (lectures, preventive and educational actions).In <strong>2006</strong>, this program came to include the professional categories of lawyers, architects,nurses, pediatricians, nutritionists and psychologists in the municipalities of Londrina (PR),Maringá (PR), Campo Grande (MS), Recife (PE), São José do Rio Preto (SP), São José dosCampos (SP) and Sorocaba (SP).Two meetings were held to train and perfect the administration of volunteers fromthe social organizations participating in the program, with the following subjects: theimportance of the volunteer work force; how to diagnose the need for volunteers; how tocommit and involve the families and how to value these volunteer professionals. More than50 organizations participated in each of the meetings.The program is sponsored by Copagaz Gas Distributors, Interodonto Odontological HealthSystem Ltd, CSU Card System and Brazilian Association of Internships.Numbers for the Adotei um Sorriso Program4,234 volunteer professionals mobilized221 participating civilian social organizations from throughout Brazil5,374 children and adolescents benefited via clinical actions181,312 children and adolescents benefited via institutional actionsThe strengthening of non-governmental and governmental organizations also takes placein programs that seek to articulate different actors while they promote qualification of theservices offered to children and youths. It is within this context that we find the GaragemDigital (Digital Garage), Petrobras Jovem Aprendiz (Petrobras Young Apprentice) andEducação Infantil (Child Education) programs, and the Mudando a História (ChangingHistory) and Projetando a Vida (Life Planning) projects.The Garagem Digital Program, which has the partnership with the HP Brasil, Padre JoseBello dos Santos Adolescent Professional Training Center (CPA), Centec Institute and StateGovernment of Ceará, implements ‘Digital Garages’ by way of projects carried out bypartner organizations in São Paulo and Ceará, who perform actions aimed at the digitalinclusion proposed by the program directives.In <strong>2006</strong>, 150 youngsters were received at the program’s Training Module and 739 peoplefrom the communities where the equipment is installed attended the basic IT courses. The‘Garages’ also allowed 4,236 free community accesses, acting as effective centers fordigital inclusion.The ‘Digital Garages’, via their partner organizations, disseminate the knowledge acquiredto other actors and institutions within their networks.
