On Jabuka above the adlittoral zone there are the Summer deciduous scrubs of Tree spurge(Euphorbia dendroides) and the Inland unvegetated or sparsely vegetated rocks. Most of Brusnik is covered with a Ruderal community of tree mallow (Lavateretum arboreae Br.-Bl.et Molinier 1935). In the middle section of Brusnik, where there are cliffs Centaurea ragusina grows.Picture 36. Brusnik. On both Jabuka and Brusnik the growing plants associated with the alliance Centaueo-Portenschlagiellion Trinajsti 1980 and the plant community Phagnalo-Centauretum ragusinae H-i1962 are described with Dalmatian (limestone) chasmophyte communities (B.1.4.2.). As Brusnik andJabuka have volcanic origins there is no limestone, as a consequence we were unable to describe areasas being from the alliance Centaueo-Portenschlagiellion Trinajsti 1980 or either as Dalmatian(limestone) chasmophyte communities. Therefore, we suggest additional research with scope to defineand classify this habitat (on 3. level) within the National habitat classification.BiševoBiševo is biogeographically one of the most interesting islands. A fire in 2003 burned across 3/4 of theisland. The fire’s role was crucial in the formation of the habitat types seen today. Only the mostNorthern part of the island escaped being burnt. Therefore, on Biševo the Illyrian rosemary garrigues(Erico-Rosmarinetum H-i. 1958) are dominant. Differences in the habitats are the levels ofsuccession reached by the garrigues. In the areas which are not overgrown with rosemary and treeheath there are elements of the East Mediterranean xeric grasslands with dominantce of Brachypodiumretusum. On the non-burned area are developed small patches of other habitat types with mosaics ofgarrigues. Both on the North and in the middle of island grow the Illyrian holm-oak woodlands withcommon myrtle (Myrto-Quercetum ilicis (H-i)Trinajsti 1985).On the North and in the middle of Biševo are small patches with remaining Aleppo pine forest. Thisforest has developed into two habitat types – the Illyrian Aleppo pine forests with phoenicean juniper(Junipero phoeniceae-Pinetum halepensis Trinajsti 1988) and the Illyrian Aleppo pine forests withlentisc (Pistacio-Pinetum halepensis De Marco, Veri et Caneva 1984).110
