BUSINESS SKILLS<br />
NOTE: Hand-out 48 contains a simple <strong>business</strong> plan that the<br />
facilitator can use as a reference at this point. However, it should<br />
not be distributed to the participants at this point in the course<br />
because it might overwhelm them. Only its structure should be<br />
discussed in simple words.<br />
The above outline is only intended to illustrate what is going<br />
to be discussed. The participants are not expected to understand<br />
all the steps at this point.<br />
The different subjects of the <strong>business</strong> plan will be discussed in<br />
the following <strong>module</strong>s. They are all crucial aspects that need<br />
to be considered when planning to start a <strong>business</strong>. Step by<br />
step, the <strong>module</strong>s will help the participants to develop the<br />
information needed to complete the plan. By the end of the<br />
training course, they should have a complete <strong>business</strong> plan for<br />
their own venture.<br />
As the <strong>business</strong> plan offers a complete description of the participants’<br />
<strong>business</strong>es, it is also a useful document for the ICRC<br />
staff who have to work with the participants and monitor the<br />
progress of their <strong>business</strong> ventures.
