Two scarce atlases of Le Rouge in a uniform<br />

binding. The second atlas is completely <strong>de</strong>dicated<br />

to Germany!<br />

par le Sieur Le Rouge, ingenieur geographe<br />

du roy. Paris (1756) / Georges Louis Le Rouge, Laurent<br />

François Prault, Robinot, François Etienne<br />

(veuve). Atlas portatif <strong>de</strong>s militaires et <strong>de</strong>s voyageurs<br />

(tome second). Contenant le détail <strong>de</strong> l’Allemagne,<br />

en cent Cartes dédié au Roy. Paris (1759) – chez<br />

le Sieur Le Rouge, Ingénieur Géographe du Roy,<br />

rue <strong>de</strong>s Grands Augustins. 2 volumes in-4° (237<br />

mm × 184 mm). Volume 1 : 1 blank leaf, copper<br />

engraved title page printed on two pages, [8], 36<br />

p., 91 double page maps, 1 blank leaf. / Volume 2 :<br />

1 blank leaf, copper engraved title page printed on<br />

two pages, VIII, 20, [2] p., 100 double page maps, 1<br />

blank leaf. Contemporary full leather binding (some<br />

slight wear) with rich gilt <strong>de</strong>corations on the spine.<br />

Red edges. € 9750,–<br />

All the maps with original color in outline. Internal of<br />

the book in a very good state of conservation without any<br />

remarkable <strong>de</strong>fect.<br />

An uncommon atlas of the XVIth century<br />

Quadt (Quadus), Matthias. Compendium universi<br />

complectens geographicarum enarrationum libros<br />

sex, ex quibus totius terrarum orbis situs uniuersaliter<br />

ac particulariter, regionum & aquarum qualitates,<br />

urbium primordia, gentium mores, ferarum<br />

genera, mirabilia mundi, variarum item rerum<br />

eventus, non minus quam in amplissimo theatro<br />

vi<strong>de</strong>ri ac percipi possunt. Ex optimis ut plurimum<br />

tam veteris quam huius aevi scriptoribus excerpta,<br />

in ordinem. Köln (1600) – Wilhelm Lutzenkirchen<br />

1 volume in-8°. [16], 714, [6] (first page with errata,<br />

last two leaves are blanks). 12 copper engraved<br />

maps in nice coloration presumably contemporary.<br />

Contemporary full vellum binding with a small lack<br />

of material on the spine. € 6300,–<br />

The map of Hungary (as often happens) and, to a much<br />

lesser extent, the world map are double-strike printed: in<br />

the first one the toponyms are not much readable. The<br />

book is in a very good state of conservation (paper slightly<br />

browned due to its quality).<br />

Two scarce works on prophecies in one book<br />

mm). 1 blank leaf, [12], 152, 23, [1] p., 1 blank leaf.<br />

31 three quarter page woodcuts in the first work; one<br />

woodcut and six copper engravings in the second<br />

book. XVII century full limp vellum binding with<br />

the spine worn. Red sprayed edges. € 4000,–<br />

Slightly browned paper (mainly in the first work). Very<br />

small ink stain (few millimeters) at page 64 that involves<br />

few letters but very nice unsophisticated exemplar.<br />
