Two scarce atlases of Le Rouge in a uniform
binding. The second atlas is completely dedicated
to Germany!
Le Rouge, Georges Louis. Introduction a la geographie
par le Sieur Le Rouge, ingenieur geographe
du roy. Paris (1756) / Georges Louis Le Rouge, Laurent
François Prault, Robinot, François Etienne
(veuve). Atlas portatif des militaires et des voyageurs
(tome second). Contenant le détail de l’Allemagne,
en cent Cartes dédié au Roy. Paris (1759) – chez
le Sieur Le Rouge, Ingénieur Géographe du Roy,
rue des Grands Augustins. 2 volumes in-4° (237
mm × 184 mm). Volume 1 : 1 blank leaf, copper
engraved title page printed on two pages, [8], 36
p., 91 double page maps, 1 blank leaf. / Volume 2 :
1 blank leaf, copper engraved title page printed on
two pages, VIII, 20, [2] p., 100 double page maps, 1
blank leaf. Contemporary full leather binding (some
slight wear) with rich gilt decorations on the spine.
Red edges. € 9750,–
All the maps with original color in outline. Internal of
the book in a very good state of conservation without any
remarkable defect.
An uncommon atlas of the XVIth century
Quadt (Quadus), Matthias. Compendium universi
complectens geographicarum enarrationum libros
sex, ex quibus totius terrarum orbis situs uniuersaliter
ac particulariter, regionum & aquarum qualitates,
urbium primordia, gentium mores, ferarum
genera, mirabilia mundi, variarum item rerum
eventus, non minus quam in amplissimo theatro
videri ac percipi possunt. Ex optimis ut plurimum
tam veteris quam huius aevi scriptoribus excerpta,
in ordinem. Köln (1600) – Wilhelm Lutzenkirchen
1 volume in-8°. [16], 714, [6] (first page with errata,
last two leaves are blanks). 12 copper engraved
maps in nice coloration presumably contemporary.
Contemporary full vellum binding with a small lack
of material on the spine. € 6300,–
The map of Hungary (as often happens) and, to a much
lesser extent, the world map are double-strike printed: in
the first one the toponyms are not much readable. The
book is in a very good state of conservation (paper slightly
browned due to its quality).
Two scarce works on prophecies in one book

31 three quarter page woodcuts in the first work; one
woodcut and six copper engravings in the second
book. XVII century full limp vellum binding with
the spine worn. Red sprayed edges. € 4000,–
Slightly browned paper (mainly in the first work). Very
small ink stain (few millimeters) at page 64 that involves
few letters but very nice unsophisticated exemplar.
