Shopping
and accessories has something for everyone.
Your shopping tour first takes you along the centre’s frontage, where
next to prestigious sporting goods producers you will also find
numerous jeans brands and young fashion labels. The spaciously
dimensioned flagship stores of Mango and Nike are a standing invitation
to some leisurely shopping. And that’s just the beginning: from
Tom Tailor and the children’s fashion of Petit Bateau to the home textiles
from Möve, the designer outlets of Zweibruecken offer everything
your heart could desire. After the Esprit shop with footwear
and accessories comes the luxurious Designer Avenue with its outof-the-ordinary
boutiques. All the year round, top designer brands
like Aigner, Burberry, Laurèl or Versace offer their exclusive wares
from the previous season for sums 30 to 70 % below the recommended
retail price. The centre’s visual elegance and refreshingly
feel-good atmosphere thus turn your shopping trip into a truly
rewarding experience.
After visiting a few boutiques, you’re probably feeling in need of a
break. And when it comes to catering, the centre has a lot of mouthwatering
options to choose from: the Zett Bistro with its light, sophisticated
cuisine, the Zett Café and Zett Gusto for a quick cappuccino
break or the Zett Vinothek for a leisurely glass of wine. The three outdoor
terraces of the catering zone invite you to chill out and relax. A
balmy breeze and the distant laughter of the children at the playground
heighten your enjoyment, combining to create a holiday
mood of harmonious pleasure.
The marketplace in the middle of the centre, with the imposing flagship
stores of Puma and Strenesse, leads you into the next shopping
boulevard, which provides a leisurely final overview of the centre’s
astoundingly multi-faceted range of wares, with underwear from
Felina, scintillating life-style fashion from GAS or Oakley, the exquisite
crystal jewellery of Swarovski or the elegant business outfits of
Park Avenue and Hooper´s. Your highlight-packed shopping tour ends
with a visit to the new Adidas and Polo Ralph Lauren boutiques.
Before you reach one of the 1,700 free-of-charge parking
slots, we would suggest popping into the outlet shop of
Rosenthal.
After a rather special kind of shopping experience, your next
stop is the ducal city of Zweibruecken, just a few minutes
away from the designer outlets.
| Zweibruecken, a city of experiential fascination
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s extensive travels also took
him to Zweibruecken, where he recorded that the ducal city
is definitely worth a visit. Reflecting the hospitable nature of
the populace, the cityscape’s image is literally roseate.
When you stroll through the pedestrian zone, at the end you
come to Zweibruecken’s oldest building. The former
“Zum Hirsch” tavern is recorded in documents dating back
to 1583. Hallplatz Square, with its spacious shopping mall
and its numerous cafés, is a popular meeting-point, and the
venue for many markets and events.
The elegant “European Rose Gardens” in the city centre,
ceremonially inaugurated in 1914 by Princess Hildegard of
Bavaria, are the highlight for flower-lovers. More than
60,000 roses of 2,000 different varieties are arrayed in
aesthetically enhanced surroundings.
Besides the roses, for 250 years it’s been the horses that
have been the foundation of Zweibruecken’s fame. At the
state stud-farm, with its adjoining gallops, visitors can
enjoy a series of multifaceted events throughout the year.
Whether it’s dressage or show-jumping, an auction or a breeding
assessment, horse trials or a foal market - Zweibruecken offers an
abundance of equestrian attractions.
The “Bibliotheca Bipontina” is also well worth a visit. This publicacademic
library can trace its history back to the former library of the
Dukes of Palatinate-Zweibruecken, and houses a magnificent collection
of bibliophilic treasures.
Surrounded by meadows, woods, valleys and villages, cosmopolitan
elegance and relaxation are not mutually exclusive in Zweibruecken.
Whether it’s nature or culture you’re looking for, sport or fashionshopping,
relaxation or festivities, Zweibruecken has something special
for everyone.
When night comes, and it’s time to leave the city, then cast a final
glance behind you. The illuminated façade of the designer outlets,
with their interplay of light and shadow, shines through the darkness
– an enchanting backdrop as your trip to the fascinating city of Zweibruecken
comes to an end.
