GRUNDSCHULE
Einschulung
First day at school!
Who was more excited about the first day of school - the new grade
1’s or their parents?
Grey skies could not dampen the atmosphere in the school hall.
The new learners were welcomed by the grade 3’s cheerful songs
which were followed by a short sketch performed by grade 2
learners. This seems to have calmed the nerves of our newcomers, as
there were no visible tears when they were called to the stage to be
greeted by their class teachers. Receiving the famous “Zuckertüten“
(filled cones) was surely another contributor.
Mrs Schilling is class teacher of grade 1a and grade 1e‘ s teacher
is Mrs Maritz.
A dance called the Duck Dance took place in the courtyard.
Learners from grade 3 each partnered with a newcomer and had
fun dancing to the specific music. Thereafter it was a brief ‘Goodbye’
to mommies and daddies, as the first day of school now started
in class.
We wish our new grade 1’s all the best and hope they will soon
feel at home at the DSP!
