Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria Abitur and<br />

National Senior Certificate results<br />

This has been a very successful academic year at the Deutsche Internationale<br />

Schule Pretoria. For the third year in a row our students achieved a 100% pass<br />

rate. Out of a total of 37 students, 34 qualify to study for a Bachelor’s degree<br />

at a Higher Educational Institution. The remaining students qualify for Diploma<br />

studies at a Higher Edu ca tional Institution. It is incredibly satisfying to note that<br />

the whole Class of <strong>2016</strong> qualify for further studies.<br />

Paola Schildhauer is the top student of <strong>2016</strong> with 9 distinctions. She is in the<br />

top 1% of all IEB candidates in Arts Appreciation.<br />

Nikolai Kirchner achieved 7 distinctions. Nikolai is in the top 1% of all IEB<br />

candidates in Afrikaans First Additional Language. Tobias Damaske and Rudolf<br />

Slabber achieved 5 distinctions. Ingo Güther, Oarabile Moima, Kabelo Mokoka<br />

and Nele Schäfer achieved 4 distinctions each. The following learners are in the<br />

top 1% of IEB candidates: Ingo Güther in German HL, Nele Schäfer in German SAL<br />

and Rudolf Slabber in Arts Appreciation.<br />

Boyang Yan achieved 3 distinctions. Two distinctions each were achieved by<br />

Norbert Graefe, Sibongile Masemolamokiti, Alainah Parker and Chesley Patrick.<br />

Chrislin Barry, Malebo Lekgoathi, Bon gani Mahlangu, Izana Maila and Lisa Wenk<br />

each achieved one dis tinction.<br />

In total, the students attained 56 A, 60 B and 86 C symbols. The number of<br />

distinctions achieved in the following subjects are: Afri kaans FAL, 12 and<br />

German Sal, 7. Subjects with five distinctions each are Abitur History and English<br />

HL. Mathematical Literacy achieved four<br />

distinctions. Mathematics, Abitur Mathematics<br />

and Arts Appreciation achieved<br />

three distinctions each. Abitur Bio logy,<br />

Abitur German HL, Accounting, Information<br />

Technology and Life Sciences<br />

achieved two distinctions each. One<br />

distinction each was achieved by the<br />

following subjects: German HL, Abitur<br />

French FAL, Life Orientation and Music<br />

Appreciation.<br />

A heartfelt thanks to all the teachers,<br />

parents and the wider <strong>DSP</strong> community<br />

that contributed to the success achieved<br />

by the Class of <strong>2016</strong>.<br />

Congratulations to all these students<br />

on their excellent results, which are a<br />

reflection of the hard work and dedication<br />

they showed to their<br />

school work. My hope<br />

for you is that, with hard<br />

work, all your aspirations<br />
