can save lives and cut<br />
healthcare costs<br />
Developed by British medical services<br />
startup Isansys - and based on<br />
the Nordic nRF24AP2 ANT chips -<br />
the LifeTouch HRV011 cardiac monitor<br />
supports low cost yet continuous,<br />
clinical-grade ECG monitoring for the<br />
first time and can thus be used to detect<br />
post cardiac arrest and other problems<br />
when they are usually straightforward<br />
to treat, avoiding life-threatening and<br />
costly emergency room re-admissions.<br />
By making the most costly elements of<br />
the Isansys LifeTouch HRV011 ECG<br />
wireless monitor recyclable, its application<br />
cost can fall (with repeated usage)<br />
to just a few tens of cents. In operation,<br />
the HRV011 resembles a lightweight<br />
bandage strip that adheres to a patient‘s<br />
body and analyses the ECG signal of<br />
every heartbeat in 4-5x more detail<br />
than that required for a wired ECG<br />
monitor. From this data, a proprietary<br />
algorithm running within an on-board<br />
ARM Cortex-based microcontroller<br />
is used to calculate key physiological<br />
parameters - including respiration rate<br />
and R-to-R peak intervals - to detect<br />
problems rapidly.<br />

Sampling Oscilloscope Probe<br />
Anritsu Company introduces the J1512A<br />
Passive Probe for its BERTWave MP2100A<br />
BERT and EYE/Pulse Scope solution. Also<br />
compatible with GHz-band sampling oscilloscopes,<br />
the J1512A simplifies monitoring<br />
and confirming the signal levels and<br />
waveforms of mounted electronic devices<br />
without on-board coaxial connectors, such<br />
as SMA connectors.<br />
This will allow engineers to more efficiently<br />
verify the designs of their highspeed<br />
digital communications equipment<br />
and devices. Covering the DC to 7.5 GHz<br />
frequency band, the J1512A Passive Probe<br />

Crystek has introduced a new RF Power<br />
Detector, the CPDETLS-4000. Encased<br />
in a rugged SMA housing, this detector<br />
is designed for low-cost RF power<br />
monitoring in general lab use. The<br />
has low input capacitance of<br />
0.5 pF (max.), so the probe<br />
supports monitoring of highspeed<br />
signal waveforms. In<br />
addition, the J1512A Passive<br />
Probe attenuation ratio can be<br />
switched between 10:1 and<br />
20:1 by changing the resistance,<br />
to optimize the measurement<br />
condition.<br />
Accurate evaluation of highfrequency<br />
circuits is further<br />
assured by the short ground<br />
lead with excellent elasticity<br />
of the J1512A. By adding this<br />
high-frequency probe to the<br />
MP2100A series, developers and manufacturers<br />
have a highly efficient and accurate<br />
test solution to verify the performance of<br />
high-speed equipment and devices used in<br />
Next Generation Networks (NGNs). The<br />
BERTWave MP2100A is an all-in-one<br />
instrument for BER, eye and pulse pattern<br />
measurements and analyses. Since it performs<br />
BER measurements and eye pattern<br />
analysis simultaneously, it greatly shortens<br />
measurement times.<br />

CRYSTEK introduces RF-Power detector<br />
CPDETLS-4000 features a frequency<br />
range of 10 MHz to 4 GHz. Crystek‘s RF<br />
Power Detector is a zero-bias Schottky<br />
diode intended for use as a large-signal<br />
power detector (greater than -10 dBm).<br />
Input signal is rated at +30 dBm maximum,<br />
and video capacitance of the detector<br />
is 100 pF. The CPDETLS-4000 has<br />
an operating temperature range of -20 °C<br />
to 70 °C and a storage temperature range<br />
of -40 °C to 85 °C.<br />
The Crystek CPDETLS-4000 RF Power<br />
Detector is made in the U.S.A. and available<br />
from Crystek‘s stocking distributors.<br />
