On the occasion of the 59th Anniversary
of the Independence from the British
protectorate, celebrated annually on
February 25, and the 29th Anniversary
of Liberation of the State of Kuwait from
the occupation in February of 1991, the
Ambassador and Permanent Representative
to the International Organizations
in Vienna, H.E. Sadiq M. Marafi
and Mrs. Hager Gewefel invited to a
reception with traditional delicacies at
the Hotel Imperial.
To welcome H.E. Ghada Waly, the new
Executive Director of the United Nations
Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)
and Director General of the United
Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) as of
Feburary 1, 2020, the Ambassador of the
Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Omar Amer
Youssef invited to a reception. After the
welcome speeches of the Ambassador
an H.E. Ghada Waly, the guests spent a
diverting evening at the beautiful residence
of the Ambassador.
On the occasion of the 176th Anniversary
of the Dominican Republic
Independence from Haiti, H.E. Lourdes
Victoria-Kruse, Ambassador of the
Dominican Republic to Austria invited to
a festive reception. Numerous international
guests celebrated the Anniversary
together with the Dominican Republic
Diplomatic Mission and enjoyed a
cheerful evening at the impressive Palais
Schönborn-Batthyány, a baroque palace
in the center of Vienna.
