7.6.4 The rmlvcopy command<br />

The rmlvcopy command removes copies from each logical partition in the logical<br />

volume. The command has the following syntax:<br />

rmlvcopy LogicalVolume Copies [ PhysicalVolume ... ]<br />

7.6.5 The reducevg command<br />

The reducevg command removes physical volumes from a volume group. When<br />

all physical volumes are removed from the volume group, the volume group is<br />

deleted. The command has the following syntax:<br />

reducevg [ -d ] [ -f ] VolumeGroup PhysicalVolume ...<br />

The most commonly used flags are provided in Table 7-6.<br />

Flag Description<br />

-d Deallocates the existing logical volume partitions and then deletes<br />

resultant empty logical volumes from the specified physical volumes.<br />

User confirmation is required unless the -f flag is added.<br />

-f Removes the requirement for user confirmation when the -d flag is<br />

used.<br />

7.6.6 The rmdev command<br />

The rmdev command removes a device from the system. The command has the<br />

following syntax:<br />

rmdev -l Name [ -d | -S ] [ -f File ] [ -h ] [ -q ] [ -R ]<br />

The most commonly used flags are provided in Table 7-7.<br />

Table 7-7 Commonly used flags of the rmdev command<br />

Flag Description<br />

-l Name Specifies the logical device, indicated by the name variable, in the<br />

Customized Devices object class.<br />

-d Removes the device definition from the Customized Devices object<br />

class. This flag cannot be used with the -S flag.<br />
