These include: ► User Datagram Protocol (UDP) ► Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) By building on the functionality provided by the Internet Protocol (IP), the transport protocols deliver data to applications executing in the internet. This is done by making use of ports, as described in 4.1, “Ports and sockets” on page 144.
