A Disastrous Boiler Explosion.<br />

A short time ago a boiler exploded in Xew York city, destroying a large amount<br />

of property, killing five men instantly, and severely injuring twelve others, two of<br />

whom died from their injuries a short time afterwards. Owing to its location, in the<br />

midst of the city, this explosion attracted more attention than such accidents usually<br />

do. and the daily papers devoted considerable space to it. Most of our leaders will<br />

therefore be already familiar, in a general way, with the facts of the explosion.<br />

<strong>The</strong> accident occurred shortly after the noon hour, and the men, who were at work<br />

in various parts of the building, were buried under falling walls without the least warn-<br />
