Logistics Combat Element 107<br />

The four principal throughput organizations of the LFSP follow:<br />

• Port operations group (POG).<br />

• Beach operations group (BOG).<br />

• AACG.<br />

• MCC.<br />

POG<br />

The POG is task-organized from the CLR or CLB and the Navy cargo<br />

handling force (NCHF). The POG may be retained after arrival and<br />

assembly for the offload of follow-up or sustainment shipping and for<br />

retrograde of damaged equipment. It prepares the port before the MPS<br />

arrives and the throughput of<br />

MPE/S as they are offloaded. The POG operates under the overall<br />

direction of the LFSP and in coordination with the ship’s debarkation<br />

officer (see fig. 7-3).<br />

Functions follow:<br />

Establish overflow areas for MPE/S.<br />
