L.H.J. Monday April 14"' 1707<br />

The House met again according to Adjournment being called<br />

over were present as on Saturday, only Col° Thomas Smithson<br />

who had Leave to go Home.<br />

Read what was done on Saturday<br />

Upon reading a Report relating to the Town of Annapolisit<br />

is resolved a Bill be brought in to prevent the Inhabitants of the<br />

Town of Annapolis from keeping any other Hogs, Horses,<br />

Cattle, Sheep or Goats within the Town Fence, than what<br />

may be kept within Fence on their own Lots on Pain of 2'<br />

6'' p Head on such as shall be found depasturing therein<br />

Two Horses his Excellency the Governor accepted, and the<br />

Gate Keeper one Horse and to receive all the Fines for his<br />

Encouragement in providing a Pound.<br />

Col° Lloyd enters the House and delivers M' Speaker a Bill<br />

continuing the Land Law<br />

Indorsed By the Council in Assembly April 12''' 1707.<br />

Upon Consideration of the within Bill and that his Excellency<br />

has received her Majesty's Commands to recommend to<br />

the Assembly to the retrenching the several Articles and Matters<br />

therein contained (and by the Lord Baltimore complained<br />

of in his Excellency's while in England) which his Excellency<br />

have often done by laying them before this Assembly in Sundry<br />

Sessions who have always neglected to do any Thing<br />

therein. We cannot advise his Excellency further to continue<br />

or revive the said Law it being contrary to her Majesty's Intentions<br />

to keep it on Foot without Satisfaction required given<br />

the Lord Proprietary<br />
