Tobacco so cutt or Suffered to be Cut Cropt or Lessened in the Lib. l. l.<br />

Length or breadth abused Defaced or Impaired upon oath made ^°- ^^<br />

thereof by one Sufficient Wittness or a Certifficate thereof<br />

made under the hand and Seale of his office of any one of her<br />

Majestys Custom house officers in England shall forfeit Three<br />

pounds Sterling one third part thereof to her Majesty her<br />

heires and Successors for the Suport of the Government of<br />

this province and the other two Thirds thereof to the party<br />

grieved for recovery whereof the bond so as afd to be given<br />

shall at the prayer of the party be put In suit and prosecuted<br />

to Judgm'. This Act to Continue for Three years and to the<br />

end of the next Session of Assembly w'^'' shall happen after the<br />

Three years.<br />

A Supplementary Act to the Act for advancement of Trade p- 305<br />

and Erecting Ports and Towns.<br />

Whereas Severall Towns within this province were ordered<br />

and Intended to be Layed out according to An Act of Assembly<br />

of this province Entituled an Act for advancement of<br />

Trade and Erecting Ports and Town's in the province of Maryland<br />

made at an Assembly begun and held at the Port of<br />

Annapolis the second day of Aprill One Thousand Seven<br />

hundred and Six, but for Severall reasons some of the said<br />

Towns were not Laid out within the Time prescribed within<br />

the said Act so that the time being Elapsed diverse Inhabitants<br />

of this province have petitioned this present Generall Assembly<br />

to have the said Towns revived and others Erected.<br />

Be it therefore Enacted by the Queens most Excellent Maj'^<br />

by and with the Advice and Consent of her Maj'*' Governour<br />

Councill and Assembly of this Province and The Authority of<br />

the same That the severall and respective Commissioners<br />

nominated and appointed in and by the said Act in their Sev-<br />

erall and respective Countys (Except where other Commis- p. 306<br />

sioners are by this Act appointed) shall be and are hereby<br />

Authorized & Impower'd to purchase Cause to be Surveyed
