Description<br />

One to one <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT to ICD map. The <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT and ICD correlates are<br />

identical or synonyms; or the <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT term is listed as an inclusion within the<br />

target ICD code description.<br />

• Many <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT concepts can map to the same ICD target code description;<br />

• More than one ICD code may be required to fully describe the <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT concept.<br />

Narrow to Broad <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT to ICD map. The <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT source code is more<br />

specific than the ICD target code.<br />

Broad to Narrow <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT to ICD map. The <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT code is less specific<br />

than the ICD target code.<br />

Partial overlap between <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT and ICD. Overlap exists between correlates<br />

and additional patient information and rules are necessary to select an appropriate<br />

mapping.<br />

3.2.11.2.2.1. Sunburn of second degree<br />

Degree to the ICD-9-CM category represented by the code "692.76.'<br />
