4.4.2.5.3. Completeness of navigation hierarchies<br />

There is no particular requirement for navigational Subsets to contain links that will allow access to all<br />

descendants of a Concept included in the navigational Subset. Implementers of <strong>SNOMED</strong> CT may choose<br />

to display only those Concepts they have included in the navigation Subset Members table. Alternatively they<br />

may wish to use the navigation Subset to organize the top-level hierarchy, but then switch to using the | is<br />

a | hierarchy from the Relationship table when navigation reaches a certain depth.<br />

4.4.2.6. Using Tree View Components for Hierarchy Display<br />

The two examples given below show the creation of a tree view from a small sample hierarchy.<br />

The principals used can be extended to any size or depth of hierarchy.<br />
