Completeness of navigation hierarchies There is no particular requirement for navigational Subsets to contain links that will allow access to all descendants of a Concept included in the navigational Subset. Implementers of SNOMED CT may choose to display only those Concepts they have included in the navigation Subset Members table. Alternatively they may wish to use the navigation Subset to organize the top-level hierarchy, but then switch to using the | is a | hierarchy from the Relationship table when navigation reaches a certain depth. 4.4.2.6.
