11. Corollospora tubulata KOHLM.<br />

H alosphaeriaceae<br />

Perithecia about 0.5 mm in diameter, globose with short beak,<br />

black. Attached t o sand grains adhering to the wood , only rarely on<br />

the wood itself. The original description (J. K OHLME YE R 1968) states<br />

that asci have not been obse rved . Even though the species is common<br />

the present author has only seen asci in one colleetion from the Grønhøj<br />

locality (26.8.1967). Asci sh ortly before dissolution 192 p long,<br />

32 p wide, clavate, tapering, broadest at the middle, unitunicate,<br />

with 8 spores. Early dissolution (Fig. 6). Ascospores one-celled, hyaline,<br />

128-160 X 16-19 p , with curved terminal beaks bearing slime<br />

droplet (Fig. 3k).<br />

Fruit bodies are common in sand attached to wood at the base<br />

of the dunes or in the gullies. Against the background of the white<br />

sand the fruit bodies are clearly visible to the naked eye. The type<br />

material was collected at the Grønhøj locality in October 1966 by<br />

the present author and deseribed 1968 by. J. KOHLMEYER.<br />
