Gasterom ycetales<br />

Fruit bo dies up t o 1 mm in diameter, globose, with no orifice,<br />

hairy, pinkish orange. Superficial, easily dislodged (Fig. 10). Basidio­<br />

spores one-celled, with one apical (24-26 p) and 4 lateral t hreads<br />

(24-28 p). Spore body 12-16 X 7-8 p (Fig.9t).<br />

The species has been referred to Fungi imperjecti by MOORE &<br />

MEYERS (1955), but later transferred to the Gasteromycetal es by<br />

DOGUET (1967, 1968, 1969).<br />

On the surfaee or in shipworm galleries in wood at base of dunes.<br />
