15. Halosphaeria appendiculata LINDER<br />

H alosphaeriaceae<br />

Syn.: Remispora ornata JOHNSON & CAVALIERE. Nova Hedwigia 6, 188,<br />

1963.<br />

Perithecia 0.25-0.5 mm in diameter, globose to ovate, with beak,<br />

darker from the orifice, immersed to protruding. Asci 8-spored, clavate,<br />

tapering, unitunicate, 68-108 X 10-21 p. No paraphyses. Ascospores<br />

2-celled, hyaline, 21-24 X 8-9 p, with terminal and lateral<br />

appendages. All appendages with spoon-shaped base (Fig. 9'b).<br />

The above measurements were obtained from the collection 11.2.69<br />

and show good agreement with the description by J. & E. KOHLMEYER<br />
