15. Halosphaeria appendiculata LINDER

H alosphaeriaceae
Syn.: Remispora ornata JOHNSON & CAVALIERE. Nova Hedwigia 6, 188,
1963.
Perithecia 0.25-0.5 mm in diameter, globose to ovate, with beak,
darker from the orifice, immersed to protruding. Asci 8-spored, clavate,
tapering, unitunicate, 68-108 X 10-21 p. No paraphyses. Ascospores
2-celled, hyaline, 21-24 X 8-9 p, with terminal and lateral
appendages. All appendages with spoon-shaped base (Fig. 9'b).
The above measurements were obtained from the collection 11.2.69
and show good agreement with the description by J. & E. KOHLMEYER
