Cleistothecia subglobose, up t o 3 mm in diamet er, amber in colour ,<br />

coriaceous, solitary or gregarious, located on the surfaee of the wood.<br />

Asci 8-spored, broadly clavate, with stalk and short papillae, unitunicate,<br />

28-36 X 20-24 p (exeluding stalk), stalk 8-16 X 3 p . Asco ­<br />

spores one-celled, subglobose, hyaline, 8-10 (16) p , with slime spines<br />

(Fig.3a).<br />

Common on wood in gullies in the dunes and at the base of the<br />

dunes (Fig. 2) .
