UPRIGHT: You have aligned yourself, your time and your habits, with others, with establishment
and established ways of doing things. You have enjoyed doing the expected, pleasing yourself and
your group. INVERTED: Should you need to do something very out of the ordinary, you may have
trouble getting the resources you need.
8 GOVERNED BY STRENGTH: EMOTIONAL RESOURCES, ENERGY
UPRIGHT: The beliefs of your parents, your early environment, have been comfortable and worked
well for you. Therefore, you are surrounded by people who have been able to rely on you and vice
versa. This gives you the confidence and energy you need to grow. INVERTED: You may be wanting
a new car that will no longer use your old brand of gasoline. Something has to give.
9 GOVERNED BY THE HERMIT: BELIEF SYSTEM; BASIS FOR DECISIONS
UPRIGHT: Your beliefs are most likely very similar to what you grew up with, but not necessarily.
And most likely you are a practicing member of an organized religion, but not necessarily. But you
are an advocate of convention, if not the conventional. You insist on a healthy system for society’s
business and a strong enough backbone of ethics to raise it above simple law and order to a belief
system and some form of reliance on higher law. INVERTED: At one extreme, you would not touch
organized religion with a 20-foot pole. At the other extreme, you are such a devotee that you follow

or philosophical school of thought. Truth is being presented in a package that is highly palatable.

INVERTED: All of the above is true, but it may be hard for you to get your hands around it because
it is too ethereal. Nevertheless, this is a group to which you want to listen and participate with. It will
become more concrete with time; that is why you are to be involved.
11 GOVERNED BY JUSTICE: STATE/CONTENT OF MIND
UPRIGHT: Your mind is not on frivolous things, but on the rudiments of what makes you tick, of
what makes everything tick. You are centered on your personal belief system, evaluating the group
to which your personal beliefs adhere, and the universal systems to which that group adheres. This
centering exercise with evaluation is in preparation for some major work and you want the horses to
be lined up just right. INVERTED: Do not waste your time or the horses’ in trying to get them lined
up precisely before you think you can act. Life is an organic process.

UPRIGHT: You are immersed in your faith, your belief system, and the people sharing it with you.
This is worship—what we want most, and when we do it right, what we get the most out of. This is the
balance of give and take, from above to below and back again. And done right it does not matter which
came first, the chicken or the egg. INVERTED: Too much immersion in a belief is actually a suspension
of that belief, just as much as if you had refuted that belief to begin with. The heart will help you
balance between belief and non-belief, between faith and doubt, between yourself and your group.
13 GOVERNED BY DEATH: PHYSICAL SITUATION, HARD REALITY
UPRIGHT: Your belief group is the most prominent, preeminent aspect of your material life. You
may well be making your living on-line serving up God’s reality in portions that people can swallow.
You are putting your spirituality out there with others where people can touch it and try it on for
size themselves. INVERTED: You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink is not a
lament; it is as it should be.
