14 GOVERNED BY TEMPERANCE: EMOTIONAL TEST
UPRIGHT: In the near future you will be given the opportunity to take five in your emotional/
creative affairs, Here is the breathing room you have needed. Others may not be as thrilled as you
are with these new circumstances, with your use of your time. INVERTED: You may not see this
emotional/creative breather in such a positive light. If there is heartache here, it may be over the loss
of something you never really had. There is also the possibility, in the opposite vein, that you have
lost something of value and are oblivious to it.
15 GOVERNED BY THE DEVIL: TEMPTATION/CHALLENGE, FEARS
UPRIGHT: In this next three months to a year at the latest, your emotional/creative obligations will
be in balance and you will be completely free to establish a whole new range of relationships and/
or create fresh from your talent pool. INVERTED: What now? The question may strike fear in your
heart, but this is the time for rethinking your emotional/creative world. Get over yourself, and over
others if need be, to get on with things.

UPRIGHT: The emotional and creative corner that you will be turning by this time next year, is a
broad and gradual one. Just keep your hands on the wheel and your foot on the gas and you will

you to maximize the lessons in Stage Six: Higher Emotions.

UPRIGHT: Gilligan’s Island might have suited you, except that you are serious about this idea of
freedom and the wherewithal to enjoy it. You are determined to express yourself as you see fit in
emotional and creative affairs. INVERTED: You may aspire to that part of the lifestyles of the rich
and famous that allows them control of their time and the ability to implement their beliefs. Rich
and famous are incidental to you. If necessary, okay, but they would only be means to an end.

performances. They should all be well attended. No one need ever doubt what you are thinking or

against an air of emotional haughtiness as a distortion of your innate courage in this Plane.

building our own compounds of limitation as we age, your path remains fresh and full of
options to the end. INVERTED: At one extreme of this archetype, you do accept, or place on
yourself, severe limitations on who you see and what you do in emotional creative affairs. At the
other extreme, you seem to be overdoing your independence for unhealthy reasons.

UPRIGHT: For those of us who could not do this well it seems next to impossible—a full
lifetime on an emotional path of preparation. The heart has studied self-love and universal
love, from the middle, as detached as is possible from within an incarnated body, as objectively
as is possible for the heart, for this is a talent of the mind. INVERTED: The correct bias here for
the Five of Cups is toward healthy self-love, not universal love, but be certain that you are not
going overboard.
