3. Iris Belhayes, Spirit Guides (San Diego, CA: ACS Publications, 1986). This is an excellent,
easy-to-read, reference for information on the concept of spirit guides. Briefly,
and for our purposes here in this book—to recognize and interpret guides in a reading,
the author works with the belief that spirit guides serve as functional assistants to the
Divine for getting us to recognize and accept the timely information we need to stay
centered within and progress on our path, our evolution of consciousness. It is difficult
for the conscious mind to deal directly with the huge oneness of the Divine, especially
in regard to pragmatic, day-to-day matters. The concept of spirit guides helps us break
that hugeness down into a manageable, easy-to-relate-to friend, a friend in the Divine,
as opposed to the Omnipotent One.
4. There are many good books on numerology, but I recommend: Matthew Oliver
Goodwin, Numerology: The Complete Guide, Vols. I & II (North Hollywood, CA:
Newcastle Publishing Co., 1981).
5. From Arthur M. Young, The Geometry of Meaning (San Francisco: Delacourte, Robert
Briggs Assoc., 1976).
Chapter Nine
1. More accurately, here I am saying that there needs to be an ability to know which cards
have fallen and where in a given reading. Actually, a reader without sight can accept
the assistance of a sighted person (who can even be the readee) for relaying the information
on which cards have fallen where. As for lack of speech, the reader can write
down the interpretations. The inability to see and interpret the colors is most likely
offset by the extra sensitivity of the Third Eye in unsighted persons. Many people
prefer to read with black and white decks, allowing the color impressions to be subjective
rather than objective.
2. Doris Chase Doane and King Keyes, Tarot-Card Spread Reader (West Nyack, NY:
Parker Publishing Co., 1967), and Sandor Konraad, Classic Karmic Spreads (Gloucester,
MA: Para Research, Inc., 1985).
3. Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, The Message in Our Time (San Francisco: Harper & Row,
1979).
