UPRIGHT: There is confidence here, even exuberance. Good taste is at work. You are reviewing a
situation ripe with possibilities, pushing your mind out as an advanced scout. You have added some
new plays to your playbook. Now to wait for the game. INVERTED: In one extreme, there is some
distaste here for the misuse of the sensible.
12 GOVERNED BY THE HANGED MAN: STATE OF EMOTIONS, SUBCONSCIOUS
UPRIGHT: One of the most difficult principles to understand and follow is the lesson of nonattachment.
Even the teachings of Jesus on these matters have been distorted in the New Testament,
suggesting that his followers were told to turn their backs on their families. What is meant here is
that we must not limit ourselves to our families, to our extensions of ourselves, anymore than we can
limit ourselves to a love of self. In order to honor the self, our path requires that we extend outward
as much as we can, requiring what has been called nonattachment. This heart appears poised to seek
and to offer more love. INVERTED: This heart is troubled with this archetype. Most likely, it can
explain why.
13 GOVERNED BY DEATH: PHYSICAL SITUATION, HARD REALITY
UPRIGHT: Emotional/Creative enterprise is underway. A profusion of possibility is in the air. You
are influential now, and should have things your way. INVERTED: Your desire to move into new
areas may be meeting with some difficulty. You may have already moved into territory that is
causing trouble. This archetype is not being handled correctly by you, or by someone affecting you.

14 GOVERNED BY TEMPERANCE: EMOTIONAL TEST
UPRIGHT: Time for major expansion in your Emotional/Creative Plane in the near future, and the
pull you are feeling is symbolized by the positive effect of the moon. The lure of the unknown as part
of the grand design to stir us to seek more experience of the one. To know, normally a mental term,
is used in the Bible to suggest carnal knowledge of another and so correctly connotes the participation
of our emotional/sexual and creative natures in bringing us knowledge of God. INVERTED:
You must deal with a distortion of this archetype in the near future, affecting you and/or your loved
ones. An over-compassionate nature may cause you some pain through confusion.
