Implementing Rules and Regulations for<br />

Executive Order No. 27, dated 31 July 2001<br />

Pursuant to Section 4 <strong>of</strong> Executive Order No. 27, dated 31 July 2001, entitled ìAuthorizing<br />

<strong>the</strong> Philippine Ports Authority to Implement Pro-Poor Programs Within <strong>the</strong> Port Communities,<br />

Nationwide,î <strong>the</strong> following guidelines are hereby issued for <strong>the</strong> guidance and compliance <strong>of</strong><br />

all concerned.<br />

1. OBJECTIVES<br />

1.1 To ensure that <strong>the</strong> policy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Administrator to provide proper assistance to <strong>the</strong><br />

marginalized sector <strong>of</strong> our society, particularly those living in <strong>the</strong> port communities<br />

nationwide, is fully and properly implemented.<br />

1.2 To implement pro-poor and social amelioration projects, programs and activities for<br />

informal settlers living within <strong>the</strong> port communities nationwide.<br />

1.3 To uplift and improve <strong>the</strong> skills and livelihood opportunities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> informal settlers living<br />

within <strong>the</strong> port communities through <strong>the</strong> conduct <strong>of</strong> various practical skills training.<br />

2. SCOPE<br />

This guidelines shall cover <strong>the</strong> marginalized sector <strong>of</strong> society, particularly those living<br />

within <strong>the</strong> port communities and PPA relocation sites.<br />
