A classic full-bodied Bordeaux blend with a
deep red colour. Although the wine was in new
oak for 27 months, the complex berry and oak
flavours are very well integrated. This wine
has great depth, balance and a soft, elegant
finish that will keep well for 10 years or more.

A full-bodied Cape blend with a deep red
colour. Loads of red and black berry fruit
from the grape. A rich, powerful yet elegant
wine with a complex middle palate. This wellbalanced
red blend is a wonderful partner to
red meat, game, cheese and spicy foods and
has a bottle maturation potential of at least
10 years or more.
Boplaas
Nestled in the picturesque Klein Karoo
hamlet of Calitzdorp, Boplaas is owned
by the Nel family who have tended vines
and endeavoured to craft exceptional
wines since the 1800s, with their very first
export consignment of Cape potstill brandy
being sent to London in 1880. Since then,
the Nels of Boplaas have built a legacy
synonymous with the finest Cape Ports,
fortified Muscats, Cape potstill brandy and
world-class red and white table wines.

Crafted in lagares from a trio of traditional
Douro varietals in the classic ‘drier’ Vintage
style, this inky black wine with its plum, ripe
apricot, intense black hedgerow fruit, fynbos,
liquorice nuances and melange of spice
nuances, accompanied by the impenetrable
tannins and sublime fruit structure, will reward
patient cellaring over the next four decades
or so. Bottled unfined and unfiltered and
best decanted prior to enjoying with hearty
traditional fare, venison dishes or decadent
desserts.
