Le Bonheur Wine Estate, situated on the
northern slopes of Klapmuts Kop just
outside Stellenbosch, was founded by a
member of the De Villiers family in the
1790s. A traditionalist, winemaker Sakkie
Kotze makes elegant wines with a solid
structure and excellent ageing potential.
Using only grapes that are hand-picked and
sorted, these are wines for connoisseurs,
brimming with fruit, well-balanced and
soft-textured, reflecting their terroir
through careful vineyard management
and gentle handling in the cellar.

This wine is a bright ruby colour. Aromas
of sweet-scented Satsuma plum, cassis and
herbaceous notes, typically of the Cape flora,
come through on the nose. Juicy plum and
cherry fruit seamlessly integrated with oak,
fills the palate. Accessible, soft, elegant and
very pleasing; riper, but firm tannins will
only see that this wine improves with further
maturing. Enjoy this wine with red meat,
casseroles, poultry, game and pasta.
Le Riche
Le Riche Wines was founded by Etienne
le Riche in 1996. Coming from a successful
career in the South African wine industry,
Etienne decided to create a winery where
he could express the cultivar he had grown
to love and respect: Cabernet Sauvignon.
The approach was simple; to illustrate
the nuances of Stellenbosch Cabernets
as best as possible. The resulting wines
have shown great elegance and class,
consistently proving to be of superb quality
and maturation potential.

Emanating from the superb 2005 vintage,
this wine shows the typical sweet cherry
and spicy bouquet expected from classical
Cabernet. On the palate, the wine is mediumfull
and elegant in style with a velvety soft,
juicy tannin structure. The combination of
barrel and bottle maturation has produced
marvellous secondary flavours, which will
gracefully complement a special occasion.
