• Creation of world-class infrastructure.<br />
Identify stretches of lanes/streets/roads having heritage buildings for suggesting ways of<br />
organizing them as a part of heritage walk.<br />
The study and documentation of the heritage buildings/monuments, protected and unprotected<br />
monuments in Agra need to be done. The heritage zones should be clearly identified in the maps,<br />
with distance from city center, accessibility, location etc. The monuments should be selected for<br />
conservation as per the archaeological principles. These heritage sites can be developed as tourist<br />
attraction with all the facilities like improving the roads, footpaths, railings, signages, street lights,<br />
monument description boards, public conveniences, public telephone booths, information kiosks,<br />
vehicular parking, garbage bins, landscaping, street furniture, etc.<br />
The surroundings of the Taj Mahal, which is the world heritage site, should be improved. The<br />
adequate facilities like improving the roads, footpaths, railings, signages, street lights, monument<br />
description boards, public conveniences, public telephone booths, information kiosks, vehicular<br />
parking, garbage bins, landscaping, street furniture, etc.<br />

• Integration of various tourist attraction places<br />
• Inducing longer stay of tourists at Agra<br />
• Identification and development of tourist products other than Heritage Tourism<br />
• Diversification of tourism products to attract more tourists through a varied consumer choice.<br />
• Comprehensive development of tourist destination for business-cum-pleasure.<br />
• Creation of adequate facilities for budget travelers.<br />
• Creation of tourism infrastructure, so as to preserve handicrafts, folk arts and Indian culture<br />
and thereby attract more tourists.<br />
• Strengthening the existing infrastructure and developing new ones where necessary.<br />
• Improve the environment of un-protected monuments and heritage buildings by cleaning and<br />
maintaining their surroundings.<br />
• Organize conducted tours of different durations involving different monuments, heritage<br />
buildings, tourist bazaars, entertainment parks (attracting children) with facility of purchasing<br />
one ticket at single counter. This may include suggesting guesthouses, hotels / motels for the<br />
tourists’ night stay as well.<br />
INFRASTRUCTURE<br />
Considering the sector challenges and goals, robust strategies have been formulated to create the<br />
world-class city infrastructure. The strategies for achieving the vision of the city are:<br />
• Enhancement and Up-gradation of city infrastructure in terms of provision and delivery of<br />
municipal services (water supply, sewerage, surface water drainage, solid waste<br />
management, roads, bridges, streetlights, community facilities and other civic urban<br />
infrastructure and services).<br />
• Improving / achieving the maximum benefits of tourism economy by creating additional<br />
infrastructure and additional facilities for increasing number of tourists.<br />
• Adopt GIS mapping for utility planning and management<br />
