The reasons behind the water logging are:<br />

Topography of the city ie. GL varies between 170 m to 150 m.<br />

Silting of the drain<br />

Dumping of debris and garbage into the open drains and nallah<br />

Unlined drains<br />

Buildings over the drain<br />

Inadequate drainage system<br />

Increased runoff due to increase in impervious area.<br />

Drains and nallahs carrying sullage<br />

Roads below the drains top level<br />

The city is facing big problem of Storm Water Drainage due to:<br />

• Old drains which are heavily silted, broken at places and encroached by<br />

buildings<br />

• Most of the drains are inadequate in size and there is urgent need for planned<br />

desilting & remodeling of drains.<br />

• Drains becoming non-functional due to garbage dumping by residence.<br />
