5.0 OTHER REQUIREMENTS<br />
5.1 The coating plant, equipment, machinery and other facilities shall be in good<br />
operating condition to meet the job requirement of quality and production. Worn<br />
out or improvised plant is not acceptable. The coating plant for the work shall be of<br />
size and capacity that shall be suitable for the scale of the work production rate &<br />
time schedule specified elsewhere in the document.<br />
5.2 Contractor shall, at his own responsibility and cost, provide and prepare all<br />
necessary area for the storage of pipes and all other materials for coating yard,<br />
stock piling, and other temporary installation. Contractor shall provide necessary<br />
agreements as required with the relevant authorities/land owners, and on work<br />
completion, to clean, restore and pay settlements and claim for damages.<br />
5.3 Contractor shall, at his own responsibility and cost, arrange all necessary land/area<br />
for dumpsite for the storage of coated/bare pipes, approach road and all other<br />
equipments and materials, stock piling and other temporary installation. Contractor<br />
shall make necessary agreements as required with the relevant authorities/land<br />
owners, and on work completion, to clean, restore and pay settlements, and claim<br />
for damages. Restoration and handing over of dumpsite land shall be the<br />
responsibility of Contractor.<br />
5.4 Contractor shall, at his own responsibility and cost, provide water and power<br />
supply and other utilities, obtain permit regarding access roads and other permits<br />
required for the execution of works conforming to all the requirements of the<br />
governing authorities.<br />
5.5 Contractor shall, at his own expenses, provide a fully equipped laboratory and test<br />
facilities with adequate inventory to carry out tests required for the procedure<br />
qualification and during regular production.<br />
5.6 All handling, loading, unloading, stacking / storing shall be done in such a manner<br />
as to minimize mechanical damages & corrosion and as per the procedure<br />
approved by the Owner.<br />
(i) All handling shall be done with slings or padded hooks.<br />
(ii) Trailers shall be cleaned of debris or any other substance that might<br />
damage the pipe.<br />
(iii) Suitable timber and other dunnage shall be used to protect the pipes<br />
against the damage during transit.<br />
(iv) Loading shall be done in accordance with API RP 5L1 and procedure<br />
approved by the Owner.<br />
(v) Finished pipe to be stored for a significant period of time in the coating<br />
yard in a manner to prevent corrosion and damages to the coating.<br />
5.7 At the designated place of issue of bare Linepipes by Owner, the Contractor shall<br />
perform visual inspection of the bare pipes in the presence of Owner representative<br />
at the time of "taking over" and all damages shall be recorded. These defects will<br />
be repaired by Contractor as per rates set forth in the tender document. Repair of<br />
