6.10 Transportation<br />

The following shall be read in conjunction with Article -17 of General Conditions of Contracts<br />

-Goods<br />

6.10.1 Under Option-<strong>II</strong> & <strong>II</strong>I, transportation up to warehouse shall be the responsibility of Indian as<br />

well as Foreign Bidder.<br />

6.10.2 In case of Domestic Bidders, under OPTION-I the loading of the pipes on trailer arranged by<br />

PE Coating Contractor shall be the responsibility of Domestic Bidder.<br />

6.10.3 In case of order on Foreign bidder under option –I, the coating contractor shall receive and<br />

take –over the Linepipes at designated port (from the ship’s crane hook). All charges including<br />

port charges in India including charges for off loading the cargo on coating contactor trailers<br />

and un slinging of hooks shall be on employer’s account the loading of the pipes on trailer shall<br />

be responsibility of PE coating contractor.<br />

6.11 Following steel plate/ coil manufacturers are acceptable for the procurement of steel plates/<br />

coils to be used in the manufacture of line pipes.<br />

6.12 PE Coating (For MR Option-<strong>II</strong> & <strong>II</strong>I only)<br />

6.12.1 Quality Assurance/ Quality Control<br />

(i) Bidder shall include in his offer the Quality Assurance Programme containing the<br />

overall quality management and procedures, which is required to be adhered to<br />

during the execution of contract. After the award of the contract detailed quality<br />

assurance programme shall be prepared by the Bidder for the execution of contract<br />

for various works, which will be mutually discussed and agreed to.<br />

(ii) The Bidder shall establish document and maintain an effective quality assurance<br />

system outlined in recognized codes.<br />

(iii) Quality Assurance System plans/ procedures of the Bidder shall be furnished in the<br />

form of a QA manual. This document should cover details of the personnel<br />

responsible for the Quality Assurance, plans or procedures to be followed for quality<br />

control in respect of Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Inspection, Testing<br />

and Commissioning. The quality assurance system should indicate organizational<br />

approach of quality control and quality assurance of the construction activities, at all<br />

stages of work at manufacture's works and dispatch of materials.<br />
