auxiliary to the County Society, is worthy the serious consideration of
the people of the different school districts in the county.
"Much good may be effected by a hearty co-operation, and cordial support
of the exertions of the parent Society. "(2)
493 - HaG Oct. 24; ed:2/3 - We rejoice that the condition and improvement
of the People's Colleges, the common schools of the country, are
beginning to excite much attention, and that public action, when aroused,
is likely to be properly directed to the diffusion of the greatest good
to the greatest number by the exemplary and indefatigable exertions of
such patriots and common school philanthropists as Taylor, Holbrook,
Lewis, and M'Guffey, men who are devoting their time, talents, money,
and untiring energies to the cause of universal education.
