(D)Women, Authority and 3 credits
Power
The majority of U.S. citizens are women.
Women have the same political rights as
men. Yet, in our representative democracy,
women are a minority of elected government
American women have always been
involved in pressure politics historically,
their concerns have not been found on the
agendas of governments. This course
studies the historical and current paradox
of women and U.S. public policy decision
making. It examines the role of women in
pressure politics, their integration into
positions of political authority, and the
future prospects for the political power
and authority of women.
