The <strong>Atlas</strong> <strong>Copco</strong> Share<br />

At December 31, <strong>1999</strong>, the price of the <strong>Atlas</strong> <strong>Copco</strong> A share was SEK 251.50.<br />

During <strong>1999</strong>, the price of the A share increased 47 percent, while the Stockholm<br />

Stock Exchange’s Engineering Index rose 117 percent and the General Index<br />

rose 66 percent. The annual total yield on the <strong>Atlas</strong> <strong>Copco</strong> A share, equal to the<br />

dividend plus the appreciation of the share price, averaged 19.1 percent for the<br />

past 10 years and 24.9 for the past five years. The corresponding total yield for<br />

the Stockholm Stock Exchange as a whole was 18.5 percent (1989–<strong>1999</strong>) and<br />

33.4 percent (1994–<strong>1999</strong>).<br />

<strong>Atlas</strong> <strong>Copco</strong>’s share capital at year-end<br />

<strong>1999</strong> amounted to SEK 1,048,010,920 distributed<br />

among 209,602,184 shares, each<br />

with a par value of SEK 5. Class A shares<br />

entitle the holder to one voting right, and<br />

class B shares entitle the holder to onetenth<br />

of a voting right. Each round lot<br />

consists of 100 shares.<br />

To strengthen the Group’s capital base<br />

and enhance financial flexibility following<br />

the acquisition of Rental Service Corporation,<br />

the Extraordinary General Meeting<br />

held on September 6, <strong>1999</strong>, approved the<br />

issue of new shares with primary priority<br />
