Remarks.—Several authors have suggested that Scaphiopus couchii<br />

in western <strong>Mexico</strong> differs from S. couchii in eastern <strong>Mexico</strong> by<br />

having the skin <strong>of</strong> the occipital <strong>and</strong> interorbital region almost
