a) Raising <strong>of</strong> pantograph.<br />

b) Working <strong>of</strong> auxiliary compressor motor (MCPA) and Arno (EG), particularly<br />

observing behavior during starting and for abnormal noise.<br />

c) Working <strong>of</strong> main compressor.<br />

d) Working <strong>of</strong> both exhausters for various positions <strong>of</strong> exhausters isolating switch.<br />

e) Cutting IN and cutting OUT <strong>of</strong> compressor governor (RGCP).<br />

f) Blowing <strong>of</strong> safety valves.<br />

g) Working <strong>of</strong> blowers particularly watching for abnormal noise.<br />

h) Observation <strong>of</strong> contractors for abnormal sound and sparking.<br />

i) Observe deviation <strong>of</strong> main ammeters taking two traction notches in forward and<br />

reverse directions.<br />

j) Test wheel slip relay (QD), progression and regression relays (Q51 and Q 52).<br />

k) Test electro-valve VEF.<br />

8.6.1.4 Low tension tests before and after inspection<br />

a) Testing <strong>of</strong> master controller for notch-by-notch progression and regression and<br />

total time for regression.<br />

b) Test working <strong>of</strong> sanders<br />

c) Test working <strong>of</strong> exhauster isolating switch (ZPV).<br />

8.6.2 Details <strong>of</strong> inspections to be carried out by various sections.<br />

Section M1<br />

a) Inspect the various components <strong>of</strong> transmission, for breakage deformation or<br />

cracks, check silent block for slackness and the general condition <strong>of</strong> various<br />

washers.<br />

b) Check the general condition <strong>of</strong> body and bogie frame, links, pins, springs for<br />

cracks possibly by dye penetrant or magnetic particle method.<br />

c) Check centre pivot side housing for cracks and side bearer cover for proper<br />

seating. Check the oil level and replenish.<br />

d) Check the snubber assembly for broken springs and replace any broken spring.<br />

e) Check sanders for satisfactory operation and correct height and ensure that they<br />

are filled.
