1.3.9 Catalytic transamidation<br />

Carboxamide group is known to be chemically stable and cannot undergo reversible reactions<br />

under normal reaction conditions. Stahl and co-workers reported an efficient strategy, which<br />

promotes transamidation mediated by catalysts under moderate reaction conditions (Figure<br />

1.14). 53 <strong>The</strong> transamidation reaction took place in toluene in the presence <strong>of</strong> a Lewis-acid<br />

catalyst such as Ti(NMe 2 ) 4 , Al 2 (NMe 2 ) 6 and Sc(OTf) 3 (OTf, trifluoromethane sulfonate).<br />
