<strong>Historic</strong>Signi:ficance: This building is significant because it is one <strong>of</strong><br />
six Prairie School-influenced buildings in the survey which<br />
demonstrates <strong>Juneau</strong>'s vernacular.interpretation.<strong>of</strong> national styles <strong>and</strong><br />
because it demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong> community development in <strong>Juneau</strong>,<br />
Alaska. Built for John Giovanetti <strong>and</strong> Family. Giovanetti owned a<br />
grocery store, <strong>and</strong> in 1929 went to work as a watchman for the A.J.<br />
Mill.<br />
